The role of the development plan
The development plan is the municipality's policy on environmental issues, land use, settlement pattern and infrastructure such as roads, energy and public services.
The plan demarcates areas for different land-use such as housing, services, industry, agriculture etc. Planning provisions are set for each area for detailing in local development plans.
Reasons for review
The current development plan of the municipality was approved in 2014, so it is time to review it in light of environmental and societal changes that have taken place since then.
Review process
On this website, news about the review will be reported as it progresses. The documents that will be generated in the process will also be published here. The first phase of the work is the project description, which describes the main criteria and focus of the review, together with the approach to consultation and strategic environmental assessment.
